The autumn begins to make its presence felt and the melancholy of September begins to spread gradually on every forgotten beach. The leaves begin to fall, the weather becomes chilly and the first winter clothes rises again after several months. Any time of year, however, can be beautiful if we choose to enjoy it in the best possible way. Today, we will see some places in the world, worth visiting if you want to feel the fullest of autumn melancholy.
Cotswolds, England
There is a suburban area near in London called Cotswolds. It’s a magical place in the English province where fog and clouds prevail. The tall trees combined with the green plains and the lake make up a highly autumnish landscape.
Gruyere, Switzerland
For many people these are the vacations of their dreams. The village of Gruyere is located in Switzerland, a few kilometers away from Lausanne, and it is probably one of the most autumn landscapes you will ever encounter. At the end of the Swiss village with its stone alleys and wooden houses rises mountains, ideal for lovers of hiking. If you make till the end of the hike you will find yourselves to the chocolate factory and you will take a tour of the splendor of the most delicious industry.
Bruges, Belgium
The medieval city of Bruges turns into one of the most beautiful cities in Europe in the autumn. The gold and red vines cover the historic buildings with rich autumnish colors. The colors reflected in the channels create a particularly romantic scene. Make sure that you’ll see some of the city’s open-air markets, which are usually open until November. It’s also a perfect opportunity to taste some of its famous chocolates in beverage form. Try a cup at De Proeverie, known for the best hot cocoa in all of Bruges.
Bavaria, German
In southern Germany you will find the most impressive landscapes of Europe with endless forests of the Alps dressed in the colors of autumn. This is the time of the year for the many wine festivals which taking part, as well as the Oktoberfest. The weather is ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking in the Alps, romantic carriage ride and tasting local wines in a Bavarian winery. There are also some 25 historic castles and palaces to discover, including Neuschwanstein, Linderhof Palace, Nuremberg Castle and Burghausen Castle.
