~When I Was Young~

I was lying in my bed the other day, thinking about my current life. The difficulties I am facing everyday, my job and the responsibilities which have overwhelm me. In a blink of an eye, I brought to my mind all these medals and all the certificates I earned when I was younger and the childish thought, that I could win everything in my life. When I was young, I was happier. When I was young, I was a kid with so many goals. When I was young, I was ignorant.

I am currently there in that possition and I feel like I have to choose 1 career but I am choosing it all and see where life takes me because I have no control of everything in my life. Anything could happen and just go for what you believe and don’t give up. Keep that inner child alive.

    1. That’s a nice advice. And I am really happy that you talk to me in a personal way. It would be nice if an advice like this could be followed by everyone.

It is a fleeting thought. Don’t get so submerged in the past, instead use that pain to fuel your future. Stay strong! You are not alone. I can certainly relate. Don’t lose hope.

  4. I know what you talk about, completely. Ignorance IS bliss but at the same time I am happier than I was because I am more mature with wisdom. You know what I mean? I see both sides of the coin.

    1. Yeah I totally get it. It always has to do with the conditions and the circumstances. It’s shows wisdom to be able to see both sides, but not both sides has the same beauty.

Look at this feeling in the first step of a better life, a door opening to opportunities to follow. This too shall pass.

    Great post.
    I definitely resonate with it.

I yearn for my ignorant youth where hopes and dreams were within my reach and being naive was all the rave.

  7. You have so much passion for life when you’re young and ignorant about how hard the real world is! I am dealing with similar realizations.

    1. I know. Ignorance is a privilege we have while we are young! We should find out how to make it work after all.

  9. I learned so much from reading Lawrence Durrell … especially his books of the Alexandria Quartet. Life and language all there. Smile.

It’s always fascinating to me to discover how people experience life differently.

When I was young I felt weak, vulnerable and unable to stack up. I suffered greatly from future shock. I still feel that way but much stronger as I get older, and acquire more knowledge and experience.

    1. It is indeed. I like to hear different perspectives or feelings. It is really good that you manage to handle it. All it takes is a mindset change, we can only have during the years and by gaining experiences.

  11. Thanks for reading my blog. You are still young enough to be my son. Make mistakes. You’ll learn from them. Don’t get fired or anything, just try something new and know that indoor rock climbing may not be your thing. Be well in life. I was in my 40’s when I first got married, going on 15 years now. We settled down and adopted a shelter dog. That commitment has changed my life, especially that now both my parents are gone. Enjoy and embrace life. Be well and happy. dee@cookingwithdee.net

    1. That was a really motivational response. I have to say that every decade has it’s difficulties, but is a good to hear a second opinion from someone who is there more time than you. I am very touched by the adoption. It reminds me, my dog. That”s the way we got him in the family. It is totally a life changer. Thank you for being here.
