Svartifoss
Svartifoss, or the Black Falls, is located in the Vatnajökull National Park in Iceland. The 20-metre high waterfall is surrounded by dark lava columns, which gave rise to its name.
Hjalparfoss
Hjalparfoss, meaning the helping falls, is a double waterfall that joins at the base. Located near the rivers Thjorsa and Fossa in the Thjorsa Valley, the surrounding area is a remnant of various eruptions from Iceland’s most active volcano, Hekla.
Skogafoss
Skogafoss is one of Iceland’s biggest and most famous waterfalls, rising 60-metres high and measuring 25-metres across. Situated in the south of Iceland at the cliffs of the former coastline, the falls produce a massive spray that ensures a rainbow is almost always present
Godafoss
The Waterfall of the Gods is located on the river Skjálfandafljót, in the Bárðardalur district of North-Central Iceland. With a height of 12 metres and a width of 30 metres, Godafoss is one of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls.
Kirkjufellsfoss
While it’s certainly not the largest waterfall in Iceland, Kirkjufellsfoss is made famous by its proximity to the 463-metre peak of Kirkjufell. This spectacular combination is located on the north coast of Iceland’s Snæfellsnes peninsula, near the town of Grundarfjörður.
